Watch Now: FEAR IS THE KEY
Based on a 1961 novel of the same name written by the popular thriller writer and one of the best-selling fiction authors of all time - and a certain draw for the movie audiences - Alistair MacLean, Fear Is the Key is a British action story about revenge. In the center of it is John Talbot, a man whose family - his wife, son and brother - while traveling on a plane, got shot down and killed. This multi-layered twister from 1972 swirls around many substories, adding more characters and information, which results in a rare, rich film with strong casting such as Barry Newman in one of his best-known roles and Suzy Kendall, joined by supporting characters, which are embodied by John Vernon, Dolph Sweet and Ben Kingsley in his feature film debut.
The unpredictable thriller with a great twist, directed by British film and theatre director Michael Tuchner and written by Robert Carrington, was one of the most popular films of 1973 at the British box office. Its musical score is crafted by self-taught musician Roy Budd, who added a typical 70s sound to this story, enriching thisâŻgreat film with yet another layer.
