Watch Now: WOLF

Even though  Wolf  got mixed reviews at the time of its 1994 premiere, this romantic horror-thriller has since garnered a considerable cult following, with some calling it the best worst werewolf movie ever. And all of that without the word werewolf ever being mentioned in the film itself. The story centers around Will Randall (played by Jack Nicholson), an editor-in-chief of a publishing house, whose life is not going the way he expected it to. The publishing house is taken over by tycoon Raymond Alden (Christopher Plummer), Will is demoted and his protege Stewart Swinton (James Spader) is brought in as his replacement.

And if that wasn’t enough, Will gets bitten by a wolf he took for dead after hitting it with his car. Soon enough, Will starts to notice changes in his body and senses. He feels younger, becomes more aggressive and decides to turn his luck around and take back control of his life, while at the same time attempting to stop his transformation into a wolf from being completed. Jack Nicholson tried to make this movie for several years, but it had to end up in the hands of Mike Nichols for it to be finally realized. Nichols was by no means the logical choice for the director's chair, but the legendary filmmaker was looking for a project that could help him prove he was capable of helming a modern big-budget movie.
